December Scavenger Hunt — Snowflakes: Stop by the BRCL to participate in the December scavenger that is happening all month long! Hidden on the first floor of the library are 12 snowflakes along with some interesting facts about them: can you find them all? Participate and earn a tasty treat.
Book Bundles: Introducing Children’s Book Bundles! Each week new themes will sprout in the Children’s Room. Each theme will have five picture books in their bundle. All bundles count as five checkouts and all items will be checked out together. They are not available to reserve.
Gingerbread Man Decorating Contest: All ages! Can you help him dress up as your favorite literary character? Stop in at the library Dec. 1-18 and register. A gingerbread template and bag of miscellaneous craft items will be given to you. You can use the craft items to make your character or use whatever you have at home. Be as creative as you’d like! Drop off your gingerbread man by December 18 to be entered into our contest. Votes will be cast on our Facebook page until the 31.
Take & Make Kits — Mini-Art Kit: There will be one overall craft available, one per person. All kits are on a first come, first serve basis and will be available starting Dec. 6.
Winter Reading Challenge: Ages 18 and up. Sign up and start reading Dec. 13. More information will be available soon on our website bigrapidslibrary.org and our Facebook page.
December Murder Mystery Kit — Murder in the Stacks: Kits will be available on a first come, first served basis starting Dec. 20. Each kit comes with everything included to solve the mystery.
A-Z Kit Club: Registration is now open for the 2022 A-Z Kit Club. This is an early literacy program for ages 3-6 that focuses on fine motor skills, early vocabulary, and letter recognition. Each week will spotlight two letters of the alphabet and Talking is Teaching activities. Registration is required and only one kit is available per family.
