Dad gets tattooed with artwork drawn by children in his family

If you cast your mind back to being a small child, you may remember how important your drawings were to you.

When you get older, your scribbles as a child hold a lot of sentimentality – and one doting dad found the perfect way to preserve them.

James Dickinson, 37, decided to have the drawings inked onto his leg – in order to immortalise it forever.

He visited the tattoo studio Northside Tattooz, in Newcastle Upon Tyne armed with a carefully chosen selection of drawings – and artist Kara Chambers artfully brought it to life.

He chose a drawing of Ariel, from The Little Mermaid, drawn by niece Evelyn, seven, followed by a pic of The Incredible Hulk, done by Nephew Oliver, five, and Lord Voldermort, of Harry Potter fame, by his own son Ashlan, seven.

“It just seemed a better idea than getting names they are s**t hot little drawings they’ve done, and I thought that they’d make for a badass tattoo.

“I felt really good at the sitting. Me and Kara are friends and I trusted her completely to put her artistic spin onto the drawings the kids have done.

“She is an insanely talented artist, and I gave her free rein …….
