ENGLEWOOD — Staff at the Suncoast Humane Society hope to have a “silent night” at the shelter this Christmas.
The Humane Society is seeking help from the community to place the remaining dogs, cats and small critters in homes for the holidays by Saturday, Dec. 18.
“Open your heart and home from Dec. 20-27 to a pet in need and give them and the staff a much deserved holiday break,” said Jennifer Bitner, chief development officer at Suncoast Humane Society.
“We have an incredibly kind and hardworking team of staff and volunteers who show up for the animals every single day. This year, not only do we want every dog and cat to be home for the holidays, we want our staff and volunteers to be home as well.”
If you’re thinking of fostering a shelter animal but don’t have the supplies, don’t worry. SHS supplies fosters with all of the pet’s necessities — food, crate, litter or whatever is needed.
